Sketch Compilation #2

Oh, and how could I forget the latest addition of my sketch compilations (or "sketch dump", if you prefer)?

 When there's just not enough time to produce fresh sketches and when you have piles of paper filled with all sorts of sketches and doodles surrounding your work space, once in a blue moon, you'll need to scan a few of them in before the coffee spill has its way. There are Buffy: The Vampire Slayer characters in the mix. Most of them were sketched back when I was gung-ho to draw for Dark Horse... Hell, I still am gung-ho for that, but who isn't? I do believe the Harley Quinn shown above is my first and favorite attempt since 1992. Might have done one or two since then, but they don't really count.

Because I haven't updated this blog in forever...

I’m sure there’s some sort of app out there that allows me to upload my art to every social networking site or blog my name is attached to. I'm even more positive knowing there's an app out there that can blog for me just based on my web site preferences--- minus porn. There's apps for everything nowadays. Thing is, I’m too lazy to look for it. 

Anyhoo…

Icarus. Because I rarely get request concerning wings. Mind you, I hate drawing wings, but this piece made me overcome that disability. Not only that, but drawing this made me remember a comic I was real fond of years ago—-and since we’re on the subject of wings,  anyone remember Ascension by David Finch? You should look that one up. The early issues were visual candy, much like most of the Top Cow books during that time.

Catching up...

I drew this months ago, back when I was trying to develop my Darklynne story into a comic book. It's incomplete, but I'm discovering that my process has a certain percentage of traditional and digital in it. Right now, the traditional aspects outweigh the digital. For example, I'll throw in the lights for the buildings in the background via Photoshop. I don't know if I'll ever be 100% digital. I'm sure millions of trees would thank me for making the switch, but until that day comes, Kenny Gordon will need to upgrade his tools.

Mentioning upgrades, I'm currently open for commissions. This is for a limited time, but I'm hoping to have enough money to upgrade things like my scanner...maybe even my Wacom, if Lady Luck smiles down on me. Well, if you're interested, you know how to contact me.
