Consistency exercise...

Part of the theme was inspired by Rodrigo Luff's end of the year project he posted years ago on deviantART.

The lady in the drawing is Amber Rose Revah, a talented actress. You may know her from the movie "From Paris With Love". Such a small role for her, but she made a lasting impression and I've been following her her ever since. The good news is that she actually likes this piece, so I now have an extra dip in my strut, so to speak.

I'll do more like these in the near future...with better consistency.

Cheers!

Paranorma

This started off as a character study and then I just went all free with it. After all, this is mainly about comfort for me, especially when dealing with pressing concept chores elsewhere. I posted an excerpt from my screenplay on Word Press. I'm sure they got rid of it by now since I have yet to renew my domain name for KENESU.com. I'll see about providing a link to it soon.

My site was neglected for the longest time. Still is to a certain extent. I need a designer, one that won't charge me an arm and a leg. I can't be trusted with designing my own site because it's too technical for me... Most go to school for that sort of thing, or have a natural aptitude for it. I draw, color and occasionally write. We'll leave the web design for the folks that know what the fuck their doing.

An old one...

Because I was a bit busy today... Old to me, new to you. In fact, it's sooo old it has dents, coffee stains and specs of stuff we don't have names for.

Sketch-A-Day #2

Call her Scorch.

It's always a good idea to plan ahead. When working on my comic, concepts and ideas for cover art are rare for the first issue. It's the first image people see on the rack, so the pressure is on. As far as future issues are concerned, I got plenty of stuff in my head.

I suck at drawing fire, but I find it easier to manage in photoshop. I cropped out the notes, but it pretty had an argument with myself about the rest of the piece. Should it just be a catholic church setting for the background with a pews and stain glass windows, or should she be encased in a confession booth? Decisions, decisions... I think I like the confession booth because this all could be from the priest's perspective... or sinner! Maybe she's the priest.

In any case, she'll light up the place... it's her self proclaimed calling. There's people that play with fire, then there's pyromaniacs, and then there's Scorch. She takes it all to a whole new twisted level.

By the way, I'm still looking for an inker and colorist that can jive with my pencils. Drop me a line if you're interest. kenesu84@yahoo.com

Sketch-A-Day 1

For Jenn Doudney, my long time friend. Abe Sapien and Hellboy come into contact with a strange looking teddy bear... The bear is one of my original characters... more of an inside joke, really.

I love drawing Hellboy, but Abe was definitely more entertaining to work with...and he's different. This would be my second stab at him. The first one was in a Dark Horse comic submission I drew a while back. I'll post those soon.

Cheers,

Kenny
